As you might have seen from my shots, I am working with a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III. I have read the posting on dpreview regarding Canon issuing a service notice (Canon Switzerland) for this type of camera. I had seen few of those dots described, but never thought it would be that bad. But now, having bought myself a Canon MP-E 65 (finally) I found my images looking like this (excerpt is about 1/10th of the image size), click on the image to see the real impact:

Sensor oil problem for Canon 1Ds Mk III

This is supposed to be caused by oil from the mechanical parts dropping onto the sensor. I definitely need to get this cleaned up. Took me almost 2 hours to clean up this shot, resulting in almost 750 correction spots.
