Like South Africa, this posting will have a bit of everything in it. For the shot above we went for the valley of desolation, where one gets an amazing view over Graaff Reinet laying afoot. Being up there we ran into the problem of not knowing the current time, but knowing the gates of the park to be closed at 20:00 o’clock. Looking at the camera, we realized we only had about 10 minutes left, we ran for the car, realizing that we had been fooled by the clock inside the camera, since it still was one more hour to go. But it was too late to get up the hill for the best spots for shooting the sunset, so we decided for another place. I am still pleased by the outcome.
This one was shot during the last days of our stay. The sister of my sister in law was kind enough to let us stay at her home for a couple of days – we are really thankful for that, Steffi – and we could do some day trips starting from there. And at night, this was the view from her terrace.
And one of the day trips took us to Kirstenbosch Gardens, an amazing place if you love flowers or shooting macro shots. The one above, by the way, was shot using a combination of a Lensbaby Composer, a Macro Lens and the Teleconverter 1.6x.
