While learning and exchanging over the internet, plenty of resources are available. If you know a site, or even have one of your own, that you want me to visit, please don’t hesitate to tell me. I’ll have a look then, and decide, whether to insert it here somewhere.

Communities:

  • DeviantArt (EN)
Art community containing all sorts of art, including drawings, paintings and photography. Many different professional and semi-professional artists have their art for display or even prints for sale. Includes a forum, which might be optimized, but there are plenty discussions taking place for each artwork. For commenting, a membership is required, but you may choose the free membership with almost all the benefits.
  • Fotocommunity (DE)
German photography community. The free membership has lots of disadvantages, but still I would not pay for a membership there. Only very few professional photographers there and the user interface is everything but optimal. Nevertheless, you should decide on your own.
  • VIEW (DE)
German speaking photography community maintained by the news publisher Stern. Some high quality shots can be found there. My account there is: fastfocus
  • ArtLimited (FR/EN)
Site with many French speaking and few English speaking users. On the other hand, for good quality shots, you don’t need words, and images are beyond all language borders. You can find me here as well.

Technical Pages:

  • Digital Photography Reviews
Extensive site with loads of information and reviews to all new camera models. The site has been bought by amazon, but they claim to leave the editor all the freedom they had previously. The lens reviews are quite new, hence not all lenses have been tested. But if you are looking for a new camera, this is the place to check out.
  • The Digital Picture
Technical page by Bryan Carnathan who writes resumes about Canon stuff.
  • photo.rwboyer
Blog with plenty of resources on Aperture
  • Aperture 3
Users Manual for Aperture 3 by Apple

Shops:

  • Profot
A Switzerland based shop for professional photography equipment including medium format and studio/portable strobes. Most of the stuff they have is available for rent as well. Professional Service Center for Canon, I don’t really know about Nikon, but I think they take care of those as well.
  • Fuchs Foto Video
Shop in Zürich for equipment and everything. They do have an internet shop as well with some real good offers.

Photographers I found ((Semiprofessional-) Swiss based):

  • x-foto.ch
A site I stumbled over. Don’t know how, but some good shots there.
  • onepicture
I met this guy in Zürich once, and we talked about portrait photography. If you visit his site, say hello from me ;-)
