F. (revisited)“There is no such thing as a person not being photogenic. There are only bad photographers.”

This is one sentence I have to repeat over and over again, if talking to people I would like to shoot with. The most striking example I saw once, was a nude shot of a woman with breast cancer and having scars all over her body. Still, it was a striking shot. Beautiful lighting and pose. Nothing to complain about.

Hence, if you are interested in modeling, male or female, please don’t hesitate to send me a mail. If you are already an experienced model, you should know that I do prefer shooting on TFP basis.

If you consider doing a shooting for the first time, be it with me or with others, you should consider certain things. This is what I normally do with first timers:

Prior to the shooting

  • Meet up for a coffee and discuss the kind of shooting (fashion, fine art or conceptual), the location and the conditions
  • Decide for the need of a makeup artist, discuss the clothing required
  • Provide a contract. You should not do a shooting without it. This contract should be signed before shooting.

For the shooting:

  • If you feel more comfortable, you should be able to bring a friend with you. Nevertheless, I usually don’t like having the boyfriend or girlfriend trying to influence me and getting on my nerves, hence I prefer a good friend, who should be there for “keeping an eye” on everything.
  • Have something warm to wear in between
  • The first shots are for warmup only

For the best result, you should feel comfortable.  If you don’t like the photographer, as that you will not get along with him or her, don’t do it. A shooting should be fun. At least, as long as you don’t get paid for it.

If you consider a shooting with me, send me a mail and we will discuss the further steps to be taken.
