Cape Town (ZA)

After more than 3.500 km on the road, paved and unpaved, we finally arrived in Cape Town. Not a very pleasant thought, to go back to Switzerland, -5° Celsius and Snow, but my mind is almost as full as my laptop, both having stored numerous of amazing shots I did during our travel. All of [...]

… we are still alive, not eaten by lions or leopards yet. But there are still some weeks to come. Since I did not take my Mac with me, and I am shooting in RAW, you will have to wait for me to come back from ZA until I’ll show my shots….

Some days back in a posting I mentioned the “get published” contest held by lensbaby. They state that more than 2.000 images had been submitted but they only could choose twelve. The chosen artwork can be found here, sad but true, mine did not get picked. But seeing the artwork chosen – and one of [...]

Photo09

Last weekend, I was asked by Markus to join in for the Photo09 exhibition in Zürich. We met on deviantArt, because he was shooting the same model I did one week past my shooting with her. Having seen his shot of her with her bear hat on said everything.

The never ending discussion...

I got involved into numerous discussions about Hardware, and there seems to be no end in sight. One of the statements mostly targets at the used hardware and its correlation to good pictures. Of course it is hard to shoot the perfect shot using a crappy camera. Nevertheless, a good camera will not make the [...]

I have entered two images to the Lensbaby contest for the Lensbaby Book. All voting will take place from January 1, 2010 – January 7, 2010. The Image I sent in is calles Cindarella, which is part of the Lamp Shades series. It would be great if you would put in your vote. If you [...]

The last “Surfing the Net” has been a while ago. This time I would like to point out some interesting sites for all sorts of shots. First of all, let my point out something. I am quite aware that whatever image or text one puts online, can and will be copied and reused. There are [...]

Lamp Shades Part I

I’ve had this idea for quite some time, shooting with several lamp shades, the ones made from chinese paper one can buy at Ikea. I already purchased a bunch of them when Jaz asked me over to Lausanne for a spontaneous shooting.

Shooting at minus 15° Celsius

I recently received a note on ModelMayhem by Jaz asking for a shooting in Lausanne. After some notes and some mails going back and forth we decided to do a spontaneous shooting last weekend. Not knowing it would be one of the coldest weekends.

Flood in the bathroom

It is not easy, to keep the eyes open, while knowing, one will have a water balloon splashing in ones face just about the next second. Having done this myself, I know how hard it will be for a model.

I have decided to move my Domain from http://photography.zugenmaier.de to http://fastfocus.ch. The old link will still work, but will be redirected to the new URL. Nothing new otherwise. Sorry. Have a nice start for the new week. Dirk

A dream...

A dream is a dream but as soon as you try to touch it it will be gone…
